Number Of Coronavirus-Infected People Hospitalized Down 8.7% To 2,721 December 23 – Health Ministry

On December 23, a total of 2,721 coronavirus-infected people were hospitalized, down 8.7% over December 22.

The Health Ministry has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, on December 23, a total of 488 children and 455 medical workers were tested positive for the Covid-19.

Since the start of the epidemic, a total of 49,055 children and 49,657 medical workers have fallen ill with the coronavirus infection.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 22, the number of hospitalization cases rose 2.3 times over December 21 to 2,979.

On December 23, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 11,490 over December 22 to 1,001,132, and the number of deaths increased by 223 over December 22 to 17,395; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 13.4%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 18.9%.

According to the report, as at the morning of December 24, there were 1,001,132 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 17,395 lethal cases; besides, 631,435 people had recovered.

On December 23, a total of 11,490 new cases of the disease were recorded, 223 people died, and 15,775 people recovered.

Therefore, as at December 23, the indicator of newly-infected people was lower than the number of those, who recovered (11,490 vs 15,775).

The number of the active sick (only those sick) as at the morning of December 24, made 352,302 people, down 1.3% day over day.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (105,040), Odesa region (66,971), and Kharkiv region (66,788).
