On December 23, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 11,490 over December 22 to 1,001,132, and the number of deaths increased by 223 over December 22 to 17,395; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 13.4%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 18.9%.
The National Security and Defense Council has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to the report, as at the morning of December 24, there were 1,001,132 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 17,395 lethal cases; besides, 631,435 people had recovered.
On December 23, a total of 11,490 new cases of the disease were recorded, 223 people died, and 15,775 people recovered.
Therefore, as at December 23, the indicator of newly-infected people was lower than the number of those, who recovered (11,490 vs 15,775).
The number of the active sick (only those sick) as at the morning of December 24, made 352,302 people, down 1.3% day over day.
Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (105,040), Odesa region (66,971), and Kharkiv region (66,788).
Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 58,372 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 55,497; Dnipropetrovsk region – 55,174 cases, Zaporizhia region – 50,115, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 42,482, Rivne region – 39,634, Sumy region – 38,923, Chernivtsi region - 38,914, Khmelnytskyi region – 37,600, Zhytomyr region – 37,468, Cherkasy region – 36,418, and Donetsk region – 33,738.
A total of 33,509 cases have been registered in Poltava region, 32,972 cases – in Ternopil region, 31,917 cases - in Volyn region, 28,351 cases - in Mykolayiv region, 28,223 cases – in Chernihiv region, 27,543 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 21,490 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 16,408 cases – in Kherson region, 9,443 – in Luhansk region, and 8,090 cases – in Kirovohrad region.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 22, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 10,136 over December 21 to 989,642, and the number of deaths increased by 275 over December 21 to 17,172; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 19.1%, and the number of new lethal cases rose by 18.5%.
On December 21, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 8,513 over December 20 to 979,506, and the number of deaths increased by 232 over December 20 to 16,897; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 30.1%, and the number of new lethal cases rose 2.9 times.
