The United States has canceled President Donald Trump's planned meeting with vladimir putin in Budapest because moscow has made unacceptable "tough demands" on Ukraine. This is reported by Financial Times.

The cancellation of the bilateral summit was reportedly preceded by a "tense" telephone conversation at the highest diplomatic level.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on October 16, US President Trump said he had a phone conversation with putin. He and the russian dictator agreed to meet in Budapest.
The kremlin also confirmed the meeting between Trump and putin and said that it could take place within two weeks.
After the conversation, the scheduled meeting between US Secretary of State Mark Rubio and russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, scheduled to take place this week, was postponed indefinitely.
Sources said that Rubio canceled a planned face-to-face meeting with russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, what was supposed to be preparations for talks in Budapest, after they spoke on the phone and it became apparent that the kremlin was once again trying to slow down ceasefire talks and prolong the war.
