US President Donald Trump, after a conversation with russian dictator vladimir putin, said that they had agreed to meet in Hungary to end the war in Ukraine. Trump wrote about this on his social network Truth Social on Thursday, October 16.
The US President called the conversation with putin very productive. According to him, the russian dictator congratulated him on the end of the war in the Middle East and thanked First Lady Melania for her participation in matters related to children. Trump noted that they also discussed trade issues between russia and the United States after the end of the war in Ukraine.
"At the end of the conversation, we agreed to meet our senior advisors next week. The first meeting from the US side will be chaired by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, along with other designated representatives. The location of the meeting will be determined in due course. President putin and I will then meet at an agreed-upon location - in Budapest, Hungary - to try to end this 'disgraceful' war between russia and Ukraine," the US President wrote.
According to Trump, the conversation with putin brought "great progress." He also said that he was going to discuss his conversation with putin and "much more" with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy tomorrow.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 14, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he was conducting "detailed preparations" for a conversation with US President Donald Trump.
On October 13, US President Donald Trump gave putin an ultimatum and said that he might agree to transfer long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine if russia refused to end the war.
