Court chose preventive measure for Farion's murder suspect. During court session, Zinchenko sticked his tongue to journalists

The court chose a preventive measure for the man who is suspected of murdering linguist and activist Iryna Farion — detention for 60 days without the right to bail.

This became known from the broadcast of the court session.

18-year-old Viacheslav Zinchenko was taken into custody without bail.

The Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office insisted on exactly this preventive measure. Judge Oleh Yurkiv of the Halytskyi District Court of Lviv granted the petition.

Before the start of the court session, the daughter of Iryna Farion, Sofia Osoba, who was present there, asked the suspect why he killed her mother, but the suspect only answered: "time will tell."

In one of the videos from the courtroom, there is a moment when the suspect sticks his tongue in response to an appeal to him.

Zinchenko's lawyer in court is Ihor Sulyma. Earlier, he defended the pro-russian blogger Ihor Kotsaba. The lawyer asked the judge for preventive protection in the form of round-the-clock house arrest.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 25, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that a suspect in the murder of linguist and former parliamentarian of Ukraine Iryna Farion was detained in Dnipro.

Klymenko believes that the suspect decided to kill the former member of the Verkhovna Rada, linguist Iryna Farion as the most vulnerable on his list, which also included the member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction Maksym Buzhanskyi.

The prosecutor's office informed an 18-year-old resident of Dnipro that he was suspected of murdering linguist and professor Iryna Farion.

Law enforcement officers have not yet found the gun with which Lviv Polytechnic professor Iryna Farion was killed.
