Zelenskyy does not know what Hungarian delegation doing in Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he does not have information about what the Hungarian delegation, which arrived in Ukraine ostensibly to inspect the Druzhba oil pipeline, is doing. The head of state said this in response to a question from an Ukrinform correspondent on Wednesday, March 11.

Zelenskyy spoke to journalists before meeting with Bundestag President Julia Klöckner in Kyiv. According to him, the information about the arrival of Hungarian citizens was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which called it "tourist".

"And what is the delegation doing here? I do not know. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs told me that, well, people arrived. They described it as a private trip," Zelenskyy said.

As a reminder, on March 11, the spokesman for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Heorhii Tykhyi, stated that the group of Hungarian citizens who entered the territory of Ukraine this morning has no official status or planned official meetings.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 11, a delegation of the Hungarian Ministry of Energy, led by State Secretary Gábor Csepek, began a visit to Ukraine.

As a reminder, on March 10, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stated that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen supported the proposal to send an inspection team to Ukraine and find out the condition of the Druzhba oil pipeline.

On March 9, Fico stated that he was ready to "take over the baton" from Hungary in blocking a EUR 90 billion loan from the European Union for Ukraine.
