Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen supported the proposal to send an inspection team to Ukraine to find out the state of the Druzhba oil pipeline. Fico wrote about it on his Facebook page on Tuesday, March 10.

The Slovak prime minister noted that he had held talks with the president of the European Commission, during which they agreed to send an inspection team to Ukraine and find out the damage to the Druzhba pipeline. According to him, Slovakia and the European Commission are ready to provide expert capacity for repairs if they are needed. The EC is also ready to finance possible repairs.

"Slovakia has the right to receive Russian oil also through the Druzhba pipeline, as well as by sea. These conclusions clearly show that the European Commission and Slovakia stand side by side on the issue of Russian oil supplies to Slovakia," Fico emphasized.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 9, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said, that he was ready to "take over" Hungary's blocking a EUR 90 billion loan from the European Union to Ukraine.
