In the Kuril District of the Sakhalin Oblast of russia, the sale of AI-92 gasoline to residents has been suspended.
The head of the local municipal district, Konstantin Istomin, has reported this on Telegram.
According to an official from the aggressor country, the entire available supply of fuel has been reserved for the needs of special transport.
"Currently, the sale of AI-92 gasoline to the population has been temporarily suspended - the entire supply is needed for special transport," the official noted.
Istomin also promised that after the arrival of a new batch of fuel, sales will be resumed and a separate notification will be made. However, there were no additional messages for the next 17 hours.
Since August, russia has been experiencing an acute fuel shortage. In the Kuril Islands, the sale of gasoline to 10 liters in one hand has been limited since August 20, similar problems with queues and coupons are being recorded in Primorye and Transbaikalia. There are queues for fuel in occupied Crimea.
The reason is drone attacks on oil refineries: at least 7 enterprises were damaged, five of them stopped or reduced work. This paralyzed about 13% of russian refining capacity.
Reuters warns that in August-September, the russian federation expects gasoline outages and local shortages, despite the ban on fuel exports. prices have already risen to the level of previous crises in 2021 and 2023.
Recall that on the night of August 24, Ukrainian forces struck the Syzran oil refinery in the Samara Oblast of russia, which supplied fuel to the occupiers' forces.
Before that, the Volgograd oil refinery suspended oil reception after an attack by Ukrainian drones.
On August 10, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Saratov oil refinery. The enterprise is capable of processing up to 7 million tons of crude oil annually.
