The Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Saratov Oil Refinery. The enterprise is capable of processing up to 7 million tons of crude oil annually.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Sunday, August 10.
"Tonight, the Forces of Unmanned Systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck the Saratov Oil Refinery <...> As a result of the UAV hitting the territory of the enterprise, explosions and a fire were recorded," the report says.
The General Staff emphasized that the Saratov Oil Refinery is a key facility in russia's fuel infrastructure. The enterprise is involved in providing the russian army with fuel and other oil products.
The refinery was hit as part of measures that Ukraine is implementing to reduce russia's military-economic potential.
Earlier today, the Telegram channel Exilnova+ published a series of videos and photos taken by eyewitnesses of the UAV attack on the Saratov refinery.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on August 2, drones attacked oil refineries in two regions of the russian federation. Strikes were also carried out on a military airfield and a radio factory that day.
