US Secret Service reveals how it is preparing for Trump-putin meeting

Preparations for the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Kremlin leader vladimir putin in Alaska have turned into a "real sprint" for the US Secret Service.

This was reported by Bloomberg, citing sources.

A week after the summit date was announced, hundreds of agents began arriving in Anchorage. The task turned out to be particularly difficult: to simultaneously provide security for the two leaders, each of whom will arrive with his own armed team. According to protocol, all conditions must be exactly the same - from the number of guards near the meeting room to the size of the waiting rooms.

The venue was chosen as the largest military base in Alaska, Elmendorf-Richardson, located less than a thousand miles from russia. It has controlled airspace, fortified gates and access to military units.

Due to the tourist season, hotel rooms and transportation are limited in the city, so cars for the motorcades are delivered by cargo planes from the continental United States. The leaders' travel routes are calculated down to the smallest detail to prevent accidental crossings and ensure maximum security.

As a reminder, Trump and putin will hold a bilateral meeting in Alaska on Friday, August 15.

According to Bloomberg, American and russian officials are working on an agreement before the meeting between Trump and putin. It will allow russia to consolidate its occupation of several regions of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, American Senator Lindsey Graham believes that in order to end the war between russia and Ukraine, the parties will probably be forced to exchange some of the territories. At the same time, according to him, this is possible only after providing Kyiv with clear security guarantees.

On August 13, French President Emmanuel Macron said that US President Donald Trump considers it mandatory for Ukraine to participate in negotiations on territorial issues in any ceasefire agreement with russia.

US President Donald Trump, during a conversation with European leaders, said that Washington could provide security guarantees to Ukraine within the framework of a peaceful settlement, but not within the framework of NATO.
