The administration of US President Donald Trump has resumed the transfer of certain types of weapons to Ukraine.
This is reported by the Associated Press (AP).
According to two US officials who spoke on condition of anonymity, Ukraine is again receiving 155-mm ammunition and high-precision GMLRS rockets. The exact timing of the resumption of supplies has not yet been disclosed, and these data have not been officially confirmed.
According to three informed sources, President Donald Trump in private conversations expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that the Pentagon publicly announced the suspension of supplies without the consent of the White House.
The US Department of Defense, in turn, denied that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth acted without consulting the President.
The AP recalled that since February 2022, when russia launched a full-scale invasion, the United States has already provided Ukraine with military assistance and weapons worth more than USD 67 billion.
Last week, as Western media reported, Ukraine temporarily stopped receiving some of the American weapons, including missiles for air defense systems and high-precision ammunition.
The White House explained that this was done to check stocks in US warehouses and applied not only to Ukraine, but also to other countries.
After a phone conversation between President Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy on July 3 and against the backdrop of new massive shelling, Trump promised to increase military support for Ukraine.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in the meantime, Trump promised Zelenskyy in a phone conversation to immediately send 10 Patriot interceptor missiles to Ukraine - fewer than planned in the suspended supply and to help find other ways of supply.
According to The Guardian, low stocks of critical Patriot missiles have led the administration of US President Donald Trump to suspend their deliveries to Ukraine.
Recall that on July 2, White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly told NBC News that the US had decided to stop supplying some of the weapons to Ukraine.
