Xi Jinping tells putin not to use force against civilians

Chinese leader Xi Jinping spoke by phone with russian dictator vladimir putin on the situation in the Middle East, Xinhua news agency reported on Thursday, June 19.

Xi Jinping said the current situation in the Middle East is critical and that the world has entered a new period of turbulence and change. The Chinese leader said Iran and Israel should stop fighting and ensure the safety of civilians.

"The red line of protecting civilians in a military conflict must never be violated, and the indiscriminate use of force is unacceptable. Parties to the conflict must strictly abide by international law, resolutely avoid harming innocent civilians, and facilitate the evacuation of third-country nationals," Xi Jinping stressed.

According to him, the "fundamental" way out of the situation for the two countries is negotiations, and the United Nations should play a greater role in this.
