Putin's goal is very simple – to show G7 leaders as weak – Sybiha on russian massive shelling

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha emphasized that the aggressor state russia carried out a massive strike on Ukraine on the night of June 17, just during the G7 summit. According to him, the goal of russian dictator vladimir putin is to make the G7 leaders look weak.

He wrote about this on X.

Yes, he emphasized that this night russia carried out a massive and brutal strike on Ukraine – hundreds of drones and missiles targeted the civilian population. In particular, Kyiv suffered especially brutal attacks.

"Putin is doing this deliberately, just during the G7 summit. He is sending a signal of complete disrespect to the United States and other partners who called for an end to the killings. Russia not only rejects a ceasefire or a meeting of leaders to find solutions and end the war," he emphasized.

According to the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, the russian federation is cynically striking the Ukrainian capital, pretending to be looking for diplomatic solutions

"Putin's goal is very simple: to make the G7 leaders look weak. Only decisive steps and real pressure on Moscow can prove him wrong," he emphasized.

As a reminder, Trump was scheduled to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the summit.

Meanwhile, Trump decided to leave the G7 summit in Kananaskis (Canada) early and return to Washington. The reason was the aggravated situation in the Middle East.

In addition, russia massively attacked Odesa with strike drones. There are deaths and injuries. Destruction, fires and damage to civilian infrastructure have also been recorded in the city.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to the nightly massive attack by the aggressor country russia, calling on the international community to "provide an appropriate response."
