President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to the nighttime massive attack by the aggressor country russia, calling on the world community to "provide an appropriate response."
"More than 440 drones and 32 missiles. One of the most terrible strikes on Kyiv. The Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv and Kyiv Regions were also attacked during the night," Zelenskyy reported on his Telegram channel.
He said that, in particular, in Kyiv they are now trying to get people out of the rubble of an ordinary residential building.
"It is unclear how many of them there are now. The Russians destroyed an entire entrance. In total, houses in eight districts of Kyiv were damaged. Work is still ongoing after the attack on Odesa, rescuers are working at all arrival points. All victims are being provided with the necessary assistance, 75 people are known to have been injured. As of now, 15 people have been killed," Zelenskyy added.
The President called on the world community to respond decisively to the large-scale shelling of the russians.
"Such attacks are pure terrorism. And the whole world, the US and Europe must finally react the way a civilized society reacts to terrorists. Putin is doing this solely because he can afford to continue the war. He wants the war to continue. It is bad when the powerful of this world turn a blind eye to this. We are contacting all partners at all possible levels so that there is an appropriate response. It is the terrorists who should feel the pain, not normal, peaceful people," he concluded.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of June 17, Kyiv suffered one of the largest attacks since the start of the full-scale invasion. Russian forces launched a combined strike using kamikaze drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles, focusing their strikes on residential areas.
