Russia has already launched a new offensive campaign, despite official rhetoric about the possibility of negotiations. This was stated by the spokesman for the Kharkiv Operational and Strategic Troops Group (OSTG) Pavlo Shamshyn during a telethon.
"We see: the russians are accumulating forces, and the summer offensive campaign has actually already begun," he stressed.
According to Shamshyn, one should not draw any conclusions from the public statements of the russian side against the backdrop of talks about a 30-day ceasefire and negotiations in Istanbul.
"I would not delve into what is being said on the other side. When we deal with the russians, we need to understand a few things: the russians always lie in public. If they are not lying, then they are manipulating. If they are not manipulating, then they are going to lie. We should perceive all their statements in this way," the spokesman for the Kharkiv OSTG emphasized.
He also commented on the composition of the russian delegation that went to Istanbul to participate in the negotiations.
“Everyone saw the delegation they sent to Istanbul - they are “no-names”. You shouldn’t take it seriously,” Shamshyn said.
The spokesman for the OSTG believes that one should not hope for a truce in the near future. “When the russians announced their “Easter truce” or “victory days,” there was no lull. On the contrary, the assault actions intensified. We see this now. Therefore, one should not have any illusions about peace,” he said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, according to Syrskyi, in April the russian offensive on the Sumy and Kharkiv Regions had already actually begun, and the occupiers had increased the number of offensive activities in all main axes.
The Center for Countering Disinformation noted that russian troops had intensified in the direction of the Sumy and Kharkiv Regions, but there is no talk of an offensive on Sumy and Kharkiv right now.
The General Staff also clarified Syrskyi's words about the russian federation's offensive on Sumy and Kharkiv.
