Zelenskyy appoints new heads of Luhansk and Sumy Regional State Administrations

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Oleksii Kharchenko as the Head of the Luhansk Regional State Administration instead of Artem Lysohor, and Oleh Hryhorov as the Head of the Sumy Regional State Administration instead of Volodymyr Artiukh.

This is stated in decrees Nos. 241, 242, 244, 245 of April 17, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

The decrees state that Lysohor and Artiukh were dismissed in accordance with the submitted applications.

In September 2024, Zelenskyy appointed 38-year-old former member of the Zhytomyr City Council from the Servant of the People party Kharchenko as the Head of the Sievierodonetsk City Military Administration of the Luhansk Region.

From January 2021 to September 2024, Hryhorov was the Head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Luhansk Region. Before that, he held the position of a Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Zaporizhzhia Region - Head of the Investigation Department, and previously worked in a similar position in the Sumy Regional Police.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on April 15, the Cabinet of Ministers approved Zelenskyy's dismissal of the heads of the Luhansk Regional State Administration Lysohor and the Sumy Regional State Administration Artiukh.

In April 2023, Zelenskyy appointed the former Deputy Head of the National Police in the Zhytomyr Region Artem Lysohor as the Head of the Luhansk Regional State Administration, and the former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Volodymyr Artiukh, as the He£ad of the Sumy Regional State Administration.

Artiukh actually admitted that on the day when the russian army struck the center of Sumy on April 13, an award ceremony for the military was supposed to take place, but at the same time he distanced himself from this event.
