Ukraine has agreed to a 30-day ceasefire, not a freeze on the war. The cessation of hostilities may pave the way for the end of the war with russia.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha wrote about this on Facebook.
According to him, Ukraine has demonstrated its readiness to end the war.
"Ukraine does not hinder peace, it is a partner in its restoration. This is what happens when allies speak openly, sincerely and objectively," the Foreign Minister said.
He emphasized that the ceasefire is for 30 days, if russia agrees. Whether Moscow will agree will be known after the US communicates with Kremlin representatives.
"Why is such a temporary ceasefire important? Because this is by no means a frozen conflict. It is only an attempt to start the path to ending the war in a fair way. This is also a step that demonstrates who is really interested in peace," the Foreign Minister explained.
Recall that negotiations between the Ukrainian and American delegations have ended in Saudi Arabia.
Ukraine has expressed its readiness to accept the US proposal to immediately introduce a temporary, 30-day ceasefire, which can be extended by mutual consent of the parties and upon acceptance and implementation by the russian side.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine accepts the US proposal to establish a complete ceasefire, not only regarding missiles, drones and bombs, not only in the Black Sea, but also along the entire front line.
The Office of the President also emphasized that, following the talks in Saudi Arabia, the United States decided to resume intelligence sharing and military assistance to Ukraine.
Meanwhile, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his American counterpart Donald Trump want to conclude an agreement on the development of Ukraine's critical mineral resources as soon as possible.
