Azerbaijan to send USD 1 million for humanitarian aid to Ukraine

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has instructed to allocate USD 1 million for the purchase of electrical equipment for further transfer to Ukraine as humanitarian aid.

This is evidenced by Aliyev's decree published on the website of the President of Azerbaijan.

According to Aliyev's decree, funds from the budget will be transferred to the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan. The agency is instructed to purchase electrical equipment and send it to Ukraine.

Aliyev's decree does not specify what equipment is in question.

The President noted that relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine "are developing on the basis of friendship and partnership."

He also recalled that in connection with the full-scale invasion of the aggressor country russia into Ukraine, Baku has already transferred humanitarian aid to Kyiv several times.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in February 2024, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed a new Ukrainian ambassador to Azerbaijan. The 44-year-old former director of Ukroboronprom Yurii Husiev has taken the post.

Recall that in October 2023, Azerbaijan allowed the export of new types of Ukrainian-made products.
