Ukraine does not intend to forcibly return citizens or create artificial restrictions for Ukrainians abroad.

The Ministry of National Unity announced this on Facebook, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"Ukraine does not intend to forcibly return its citizens or create artificial restrictions for Ukrainians abroad, in particular, regarding access to consular services or the cancellation of social assistance. Our main goal is to create conditions for the voluntary return of citizens, ensuring security, economic opportunities, access to housing and social services," the report says.

It is also noted that the Ministry of National Unity and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to work to preserve the national and cultural identity of Ukrainians abroad.

The publication notes that to achieve this goal, the country's leadership is discussing with EU countries measures to put pressure on citizens to encourage them to return.

In particular, this is the cancellation of assistance for refugees and the ban on consular services for men of draft age.

In early December, the Cabinet of Ministers renamed the Ministry for the Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories into the Ministry of National Unity of Ukraine.
