The Cabinet of Ministers has renamed the Ministry for the Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories into the Ministry of National Unity of Ukraine.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Today, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Oleksii Chernyshov to the position of Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of National Unity of Ukraine. The government, for its part, adopted a decision to rename the Ministry for the Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories into the Ministry of National Unity of Ukraine. This institutional strengthening will help to form a new quality of work and interaction with the multi-million Ukrainian community from all waves of migration," he said.
Shmyhal added that the creation of the Ministry of National Unity will also contribute to the formation of a strategy on how to return Ukrainians to live and work in Ukraine.
According to him, the new Deputy Prime Minister should soon present a clear plan for developing the ministry, its team, etc.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Oleksii Chernyshov, the Chairman of the Board of the Naftogaz of Ukraine National Joint-Stock Company (NAC), as Minister of National Unity of Ukraine.
On November 19, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, presenting the Resilience Plan of Ukraine in the Verkhovna Rada, announced the creation of the Ministry of National Unity of Ukraine to strengthen policy towards Ukrainians abroad.
