Italian and Spanish embassies in Kyiv restrict operations due to risk of missile strike

Three other embassies in Kyiv - the US, Italy and Spain - have already decided to temporarily close on November 20 due to reports of a possible air attack on Kyiv. Following the US embassy's reports, the Spanish and Italian foreign offices have closed.

This was reported by the Spanish agency EFE.

Thus, the Spanish embassy in Kyiv said that it would not provide services during the day due to the "increased risk of air attacks throughout Ukraine".

The department sent emails to Italians in Ukraine urging them to "take care of shelter".

The Italian embassy also issued a statement warning that "as a precautionary measure, the embassy in Kyiv will remain closed to visitors today", but added that the embassy continues to operate.

Italian citizens in Ukraine were advised to heed the warnings of local authorities about the missile threat.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the morning of November 20, the US Embassy in Ukraine announced that it was suspending its work for today due to confirmed information about the risk of a possible large-scale air strike on Ukraine.

However, the National Security and Defense Council says that the missile threat will persist for several more months, as the russian federation has accumulated a large number of missiles at airfields.

At the same time, putin approved the updated nuclear doctrine of the russian federation, which now allows the use of nuclear weapons against Ukraine.

The updated doctrine provides that the basis for a nuclear strike may be "aggression against the russian federation and its allies by any non-nuclear state with the support of a nuclear state," as well as a massive air attack by non-nuclear means, including drones.
