Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, said that the downing of the Shaheds was complicated by the low altitude of their flights and the change in tactics by the aggressor state of russia.
He reported this in Telegram.
"The shooting down of the Shaheds has become more difficult, in particular, due to the low altitude of their flights and the change in russian tactics. Measures are being taken. This is important to understand," the message says.
In addition, Kovalenko noted that the enemy is trying to carry out attacks by UAVs "almost on a 24-hour basis." The military purpose of this tactic is to save missiles, but it also has an intelligence purpose.
"In addition, this is an attempt to put constant psychological pressure on the population, with the aim of breaking the motivation for resistance. However, new ways of defeating the Shaheds are on the way," he noted.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, from 5:30 p.m. on November 2 and during the night of November 3, the russian army attacked Ukraine with 96 Shahed-type attack UAVs and unspecified drones, as well as an Kh-59/69 missile. Air defense forces destroyed a missile and 66 drones, another 27 enemy UAVs were lost in location, 1 flew to Belarus. As of 09:00 a.m., 2 russian drones remained in the air.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in October, russia launched 2,023 Shahed attack drones and drones of an unspecified type into Ukraine.
At the same time, British intelligence said that the aggressor state of russia attacked Ukraine in September with a record number of kamikaze drones - 1,300 drones. The agency predicted that russia would exceed this number in October.
