HACC puts MP Odarchenko on international wanted list

The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has put Member of Parliament from the Servant of the People faction Andrii Odarchenko on the national and international wanted list.

The HACC, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office have announced this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

According to the NACB, Odarchenko went abroad through the Zakarpattia Region.

The court was not able to recover the UAH 15 million of bail deposited for Odarchenko, as this should be done in the presence of the 18 mortgagors.

Earlier, SACPO prosecutor Yelena Drobotova stated that Odarchenko crossed the state border outside the checkpoint using his connections, as his foreign passports were deposited.

According to the prosecutor, the MP went to the Zakarpattia Region and apparently made connections there that helped him cross the border.

In particular, Odarchenko probably established close ties with the former head of the Zakarpattia Regional Military Administration Viktor Mykyta, who was recently appointed deputy head of the President's Office.

This information is currently being officially verified, but Odarchenko was absent from the Verkhovna Rada on September 18.

The court decided to bring Odarchenko to the hearing on September 19, but he did not appear at the hearing.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the head of the State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Mustafa Nayyem, commented on the attempted bribery by MP Odarchenko. The court arrested MP Odarchenko with an alternative bail of UAH 15 million. Odarchenko was caught giving a USD 50,000 bribe to Nayyem. Nayyem agreed to cooperate with the NACB, so that the detectives detained Odarchenko.
