Orbán sends proposals on ending war in Ukraine to all EU leaders

In a letter to the leaders of the European Union, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán sent Hungary's proposals for peace in Ukraine. He informed the leaders of the European Council about the results of negotiations and visits to Ukraine, russia, China and the United States, the first phase of the peacekeeping mission and Hungary's proposals.

In an interview with Magyar Nemzet, Political Director of the Prime Minister of Hungary, Balázs Orbán, said this.

The adviser noted that Orbán's plan is currently on the desk of every EU prime minister and is based on a realistic assessment of the situation, realistic goals and an appropriate schedule. He reminded that the Prime Minister visited four countries in just two weeks of the "peacekeeping mission".

"There are two warring parties - Ukraine and Russia, and there are three or four large and medium-sized powers that can play a decisive role as mediators. These are the United States, Europe, China, as well as, for example, Turkiye, with the help of which the only partial agreement so far on the issue of the Black Sea grain corridors was concluded. These countries are primary and crucial if one is thinking about real peacemaking. We went everywhere with the aim of mapping how much and what chance there is for peace,” Balázs Orbán said.

From the visits to Ukraine and russia, it became clear that they are "very determined in the struggle", and without external mediators, there will be a significant escalation in the coming months, Balázs Orbán emphasized. As the last two weeks have shown, Hungary is a capable mediator, and now the task is to consolidate this new approach and try to convince the European Union member states of Viktor Orbán's plan, the Political Director emphasized. He said that Hungary will work to create conditions for peace talks.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 2, Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán came to Kyiv for a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

After Kyiv, Orbán went to moscow and met with russian dictator putin.

On July 12, Orbán met with former U.S. President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.
