Following his visit to moscow, Orbán states that positions of Ukraine and russia regarding war are very far from each other

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that the positions of Ukraine and russia regarding a full-scale invasion of the russian federation and possible peace negotiations "are very far" from each other.

Orbán made the corresponding statement at a joint press conference with dictator vladimir putin, his words are quoted by European Pravda.

"I felt that the positions are very far from each other, that many steps need to be taken to establish peace, but the first important step towards dialogue has already been taken," Orbán said.

He called the meeting with putin special because it took place during the war.

Orbán also said that Hungary is one of the few countries that can hold a dialogue with both sides of the conflict at the same time.

We will remind, yesterday evening media reported that Orbán together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Péter Szijjártó intend to visit russia. Already today this information was confirmed.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 4, the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, said that Hungary, which currently presides over the EU, does not have a mandate from the bloc to interact with the russian federation.

And the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said, commenting on Orbán’s visit to moscow, that appeasement will not stop the dictator putin.

We will remind you that Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson called Orbán’s visit to russia "an insult to the Ukrainian people".
