Almost 80 sailors were on Novocherkassk ship at the time of attack - media

Almost 80 sailors were on board the large landing ship Novocherkassk of the Black Sea Fleet of the russian federation, which was destroyed during a missile attack on the temporarily occupied bay of Feodosia in Crimea.

This is reported by the russian publication Astra.

It is noted that during that attack, the ammunition got into the front part of the large landing ship, according to sources of the publication. Then the impact caused a powerful explosion and a fire.

The publication claims that there were 77 sailors among the crew members of the Novocherkassk ship at the time of the attack, according to the publication.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, as well as DeepState analysts, published a photo of the remains of russia's Novocherkassk large landing ship.

The russians have stepped up checks on local residents of Feodosia in the temporarily occupied Crimea after Ukrainian defenders hit a russian military large landing ship, as they try to find whistleblowers and prevent leaks about the extent of damage from the attack.

On the morning of December 26, the Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykola Oleshchuk, announced the destruction of the large russian landing ship Novocherkassk in the port of occupied Feodosia.
