Due to favorable weather conditions, the level of gas consumption in Ukraine is lower than last year in this period, by more than 13 million cubic meters per day.
This is stated in the notification of the Ministry of Energy, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Due to favorable weather conditions, the level of gas consumption in Ukraine is lower than last year in this period, by more than 13 million cubic meters per day. This allows active accumulation of natural gas reserves in storage - currently UGS has more than 16 billion cubic meters of natural gas," the message said.
As of November 3, the volume of gas from foreign traders who used the service of gas storage in Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities was 2.5 billion cubic meters.
Thus, the estimated reserves of Ukrainian gas in UGS amount to more than 13.5 billion cubic meters, which is 7.5% less than on the same date in 2022 (14.6 billion cubic meters).
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Oleksii Chernyshov, chairman of the board of the Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint-stock company, says that Ukraine does not plan to use gas owned by foreign companies in Ukrainian UGS during the heating season.
The Ministry of Energy predicts that by the beginning of winter, the volume of European traders' gas in Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities will increase to 3 billion cubic meters.
