Germany already contributes EUR 100 million to Ukraine Energy Support Fund

Germany is the largest donor to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, currently the contributions of the German side amount to more than EUR 100 million.

This is stated in the notification of the Ministry of Energy, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, during the 6th German-Ukrainian business forum, the head of the Ministry of Energy Herman Halushchenko thanked Germany for the support provided to the Ukrainian energy sector in the form of energy equipment and financial contributions to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.

"The support that Germany provides us was critical for getting through last winter and will be important for the next winter. Thank you for your help. I am convinced that together we will not only survive this winter, but we will also be able to strengthen the energy security of the European continent," Halushchenko said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Ukrhydroenergo energy generating company and the Andritz Hydro GmbH (Germany) entered into agreements on cooperation in the implementation of projects for the modernization of hydroelectric power plants (HEPP), as well as the production of green hydrogen.

The European Commission will contribute a grant of more than EUR 50 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.

The Ukraine Energy Support Fund was established in the spring of 2022.
