Grain exports by Ukraine down 3.7% to 45.3 million tons since early MY2022/2023

The actual volume of grain exports by Ukraine since the beginning of the 2022/2023 marketing year (July 2022 - June 2023) as of May 31 had made 45.3 million tons, down 3.7% or 1.721 million year over year.

This follows from a statement by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

A total of 15,442,000 tons of wheat, 2,647,000 tons of barley, 17.9,000 tons of rye, and 26,868,000 tons of corn have already been exported.

At the same time, during the specified period, the export of wheat flour and flour from other crops increased by 99%, or by 70,500 tons year over year, to 141,500 tons.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the European Commission banned the import of Ukrainian wheat, corn, rapeseed, and sunflower to Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia until June 5.

On August 5, the first caravan with Ukrainian grain left the seaports of Odesa and Chornomorsk.

According to the results of the 2021/2022 marketing year (July 2021 - June 2022), Ukraine's actual grain export volumes amounted to 48.508 million tons, which is 8.5% or 3.79 million tons more than the previous marketing year.
