Ukrainian defenders destroyed 18 Shahed attack drones and a reconnaissance drone that night, in total, the enemy used up to 24 Shaheds for attacks.
This was reported by the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Telegram.
"On the night of May 4, the enemy again attacked with Shaheds from the north (Bryansk Oblast) and from the south (the eastern coast of the Sea of Azov). The invaders used up to 24 Shahed-136/131 attack drones," the message says.
This time, 18 attack UAVs were destroyed by the forces and means of the Air Force in cooperation with the air defense of other components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
It is noted that combat work was conducted in the northern, central and southern regions of Ukraine, anti-aircraft missile weapons, aviation and mobile fire groups were used in the areas of responsibility of the South and Center air commands.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 1, the network infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson Regions was damaged due to shelling by the Russian occupiers.
On Monday night, Russia launched 18 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles over Ukraine, the air defense forces destroyed 15 of them. Around 02:30 in the morning, the Russian invaders attacked Ukraine from strategic aviation aircraft - nine Tu-95s from the Olenegorsk district (Murmansk Oblast) and two Tu-160s from the Caspian Sea region.
The previous night, during a night attack by Russian drones, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down 21 of the 26 launched Shaheds.
