Specialists of the State Emergency Service completed urgent repairs to the roof of the Assumption Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, which was damaged during russian shelling on the night of June 15. This was reported by the head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Andrii Danyk.

The primary stage of restoration and conservation of the historical monument was completed in full. Rescuers worked on the roof of the temple for more than a week to protect the building from rain and further destruction of building structures.

Currently, high-altitude emergency work on the roof has been completely completed, but the elimination of the consequences of the attack continues inside the cathedral. Rescue units deployed special equipment and heat guns there to dry the interior of the building from excessive moisture.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, as a result of the massive russian attack on Kyiv on the night of June 15, there was a direct hit on the complex of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, and the roof of the Assumption Cathedral caught fire.
