Footage has emerged showing the first few seconds after the russian attack on the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra on the night of June 15. In particular, it shows a drone striking the Cathedral of the Dormition.

The video was published by the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve.

“The first seconds of a precision strike by a Russian drone that hit the very heart of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra—the Cathedral of the Dormition,” the statement reads.

"The cathedral engulfed in flames is yet another crime committed by the Russian occupiers, who seek to destroy our memory, culture, and identity. It is painful to look at this damaged shrine, which has survived more than one attempt to erase it from Ukrainian history. But we have revived what the enemy tried to destroy time and again. We will rebuild it now as well,” the statement emphasized.

As a reminder, as a result of a massive russian attack on Kyiv on the night of June 15, the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra complex was directly hit, and the roof of the Cathedral of the Dormition caught fire.

Emergency restoration work is underway at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra in Kyiv following the russian attack on June 15. Rescue workers from several regions of Ukraine are involved in the efforts.
