The functions of territorial recruitment and social support centers should be distributed among other institutions. Deputy Minister of Defense Mstyslav Banik has announced this on Facebook, according to the Ukrainian News agency.
"The functions of territorial recruitment and social support centers should be distributed among other institutions, without a closed-loop system of registration and mobilization. The hubs where people will wait to undergo medical examinations and be sent to training centers and brigades must be as comfortable and humane as possible, with 24/7 video surveillance and strict oversight of interactions with citizens at all stages,” he noted.
Banik reported that following the incident at the Odesa Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center, internal investigations will be conducted at all Territorial Recruitment Centers.
He emphasized that such incidents once again confirm how critically urgent the reform of the territorial recruitment and social support centers has become, a reform on which the Ministry of Defense is currently working.
As reported by Ukrainian News, the Ministry of Defense had previously stated that the reform of territorial recruitment and social support centers would be carried out after the issue of raising military salaries is resolved.
On January 14, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Mykhailo Fedorov as the new head of the Ministry of Defense. At that time, following a meeting with the newly appointed Defense Minister Fedorov, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Ministry of Defense must present proposals for systemic solutions to the problems that have accumulated regarding the work of territorial recruitment and social support centers.
