Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the destroyed high-rise building in the Darnytskyi District of the capital, where 24 people were killed as a result of a russian strike. The head of state paid tribute to the residents whose lives were cut short by the missile strike and expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims. It was reported on the President’s social media accounts.

"I paid tribute to the victims at the site of the building destroyed by a Russian missile strike. Here, Russia took the lives of 24 people, including three children," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said while visiting the site of the tragedy. The President laid flowers at the ruins of the building and spoke with rescue workers who had been clearing the rubble for over a day.
Addressing the international community, the head of state emphasized the strategic importance of the Ukrainian people’s struggle. In his view, the world must remember the price Ukraine pays every day to prevent russian aggression from spreading to other nations. Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that it is the resilience of Ukrainians today that serves as a barrier to the further expansion of the war in Europe and the world.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the search and rescue operation, which lasted over 28 hours, has now been officially concluded.
The death toll from the russian strike in the Darnytskyi District of Kyiv has risen to twenty-four people.
