President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed personnel matters with Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko. Zelenskyy announced this on his Telegram channel, according to the Ukrainian News agency.

"We discussed in detail with Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko personnel issues that need to be resolved. In particular, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will soon make changes at the level of deputy ministers. It is important to ensure effective communication with parliamentarians regarding vacant ministerial positions," he said.

Zelenskyy added that certain state-owned enterprises must be promptly restructured; a transparent and professional competition is needed for the position of the new head of the company "Forests of Ukraine"; and, overall, the sector requires new approaches—more modern, clean, and capable of supporting state revenues.

In addition, the President instructed the Prime Minister to accelerate the process of change in state-owned energy companies, primarily at “Energoatom,” where a new supervisory board has already been formed and the board’s selection of a new company head should be expedited.

They also discussed the operations of state-owned banks separately; Zelenskyy noted that the banking sector needs to be liberalized and entrepreneurial opportunities expanded. Regarding Sense Bank, he added that the need for its privatization has already been determined, and there should be no delays in the privatization process: the bank must be privatized this year.

“I am counting on active and swift steps to resolve the issues that are hindering economic processes in Ukraine and reducing state budget revenues. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine must ensure the necessary results, Zelenskyy said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the positions of Minister of Justice and Minister of Digital Transformation are currently vacant in the Cabinet of Ministers, following the dismissal in November of Minister of Justice Herman Halushchenko (who served as Minister of Energy in Denys Shmyhal’s government) amid a corruption scandal in the energy sector, and the appointment in January of Mykhailo Fedorov as Minister of Defense.
