The court granted the petition of the defense of MP Nestor Shufrych and released him from custody, imposing round-the-clock house arrest with electronic monitoring.

The politician's lawyer Viktor Karpenko said this in a comment to hromadske and the Prosecutor General's Office announced this on Telegram.

According to Karpenko, the defense filed a corresponding motion, which the court upheld. The decision is not subject to appeal.

The Prosecutor General's Office said that they objected to the change of the preventive measure and insisted on the continuation of detention. During the meeting, prosecutors emphasized the gravity of the crimes incriminated to Shufrych, in particular treason, as well as the risks that, in their opinion, remain relevant.
