Ukraine and Saudi Arabia have agreed on defense cooperation. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"We have an important agreement between the Ministries of Defense of Ukraine and Saudi Arabia on defense cooperation. Before the start of our meeting with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, a corresponding document was signed. It lays the foundation for further contracts, technological cooperation and investments and strengthens the international role of Ukraine as a security donor," he said.
Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine is ready to share its expertise and system with Saudi Arabia and cooperate to strengthen the protection of lives.
"For the fifth year now, Ukrainians have been fighting against the same terrorist strikes with ballistic missiles and drones that the Iranian regime is currently carrying out in the Middle East and the Gulf region. And Saudi Arabia has something that Ukraine is interested in. This cooperation can be mutually beneficial," he noted.
Zelenskyy also discussed with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region in general, russia's assistance to the Iranian regime, the situation in fuel markets, and possible energy cooperation.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 26, Zelenskyy arrived on an official visit to Saudi Arabia.
Zelenskyy previously reported that Kyiv had received official requests from the United States, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait to strengthen the air defense of their strategic facilities and military bases.
