Ukraine has begun active cooperation with the Middle East and the United States to strengthen the air defense of their strategic facilities and military bases. In addition to the request from the United States, Kyiv has received official requests from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait. Volodymyr Zelenskyy told about this in an interview with Le Monde.
Ukrainian expert groups are already working directly on the ground, assessing the situation and sharing their unique combat experience in countering massive drone attacks.
The President emphasized that even the most advanced Western systems, such as Patriot or THAAD, are not able to provide full protection against dense drone strikes without specific Ukrainian experience.
"We are already working with someone, and our expert teams are already on the ground, assessing the situation and sharing their invaluable experience. Because no matter how many Patriot, THAAD, and other air defense systems there are in the Middle East, it is not enough for the full operation of air defense. There are modern interceptors that should work against dense drone strikes," the Head of State noted.
According to him, Ukraine is ready not only to sell interceptor drones, which are now in surplus, but also to provide full expertise on their use.
In return, Kyiv expects to receive air defense systems that are critically needed to repel russian missile attacks.
"They have some missiles for air defense, which we lack. We would like to negotiate on this," Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
He also added that such a partnership would help attract funding for the Ukrainian defense industry, which is currently only half-loaded due to lack of funds. Thus, Ukraine offers its partners a ready-made defense system, where technologies work in combination with a proven strategy, which is a key factor for success in modern warfare.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, more than 200 specialists are already in the Middle East to help defend against Iranian UAVs.
