Since the conflicts in the Middle East are predominantly aerial in nature, the region needs a large number of air defense systems. Ukraine has already provided the United States with its own expertise and means to intercept drones. Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in an interview with CNN.
"The war in the Middle East is not a land war, but an air war. Therefore, they need a large number of air defense systems. The United States, of course, uses its aviation, but to close the skies, we provided what we had. I mean significant expertise. That is why they need drone interceptors. This is our new technological know-how. And the countries of the Middle East turned to us for this," he said.
Zelenskyy also added that American bases and countries in the region need enhanced protection, and Ukrainian developments fill a niche where the US arsenal lacked effective means.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Donald Trump considers Ukraine's assistance in protecting against Iranian drones unnecessary due to the imminent end of the war with Tehran.
Meanwhile, Ukraine has received 11 requests from countries bordering Iran, as well as from the US and Europe, for assistance in shooting down Iranian drones.
Washington also previously recognized the mistake of ignoring the Ukrainian proposal for protection against Iranian Shaheds.
