President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka as head of the delegation and chief negotiator with the European Union on concluding an agreement on Ukraine's accession to the EU instead of Olha Stefanishyna. This is stated in Decree No. 157 dated February 24, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"To approve Taras Andriyovych Kachka – Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine - as part of the Ukrainian delegation to participate in negotiations with the European Union on concluding an Agreement on Ukraine's accession to the European Union, appointing him as head of the delegation - chief negotiator," the document states.
At the same time, Zelenskyy removed Olha Stefanishyna from the Ukrainian delegation to participate in negotiations with the EU on the conclusion of an agreement on Ukraine's accession, relieving her of her duties as head of the delegation - chief negotiator.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Zelenskyy, by decree dated June 21, 2024, created a Ukrainian delegation to participate in negotiations with the European Union on the conclusion of an agreement on Ukraine's accession to the EU, appointing Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna as head of the delegation - chief negotiator.
In August 2025, Zelenskyy appointed Stefanishyna as ambassador to the United States.
In July 2025, the Verkhovna Rada appointed a new Cabinet of Ministers of the newly appointed Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, in particular, it appointed Taras Kachka as Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, before that he was Deputy Minister of Economy - Trade Representative of Ukraine.
