The US will not sign an agreement on security guarantees for Ukraine until Kyiv and Moscow reach a formal agreement on ending the war.
This was announced by Politico with reference to sources among European and American officials, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Currently, the peace process remains blocked due to the Kremlin's territorial demands, to which Ukraine does not agree.
According to one of the officials, US President Donald Trump seeks to agree on all key details before the actual signing of the document.
"Two European and one American officials said that the States made it clear to Ukraine that they would not complete the agreement on security guarantees until Kyiv and Moscow reach a general agreement on ending the war. And since russia insists on the demands for territory from which Ukraine will not retreat, the peace process has been slowed down," the material says.
At the same time, at the Munich conference, Zelenskyy plans to advocate increasing pressure on the aggressor.
European allies, in turn, expect Washington to take more decisive action to combat the russian "shadow fleet."
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with journalist Simon Shuster that the country is not losing the war with russia, so he will not force the people to agree to humiliating conditions.
