Danylo Hetmantsev, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction and chairman of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy, demands that clan special pensions for prosecutors be immediately canceled.
Hetmantsev said this in a statement on Telegram, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Bill No. 12278 should be considered immediately. I emphasize: it is not about special pensions as such - it is about clan pensions that undermine the foundations of fairness in pension provision. Only so far, it turns out that a prosecutor at the age of 30 can receive a special pension of UAH 156,000, while a miner who has worked underground all his life can receive only UAH 8,000. The difference is noticeable, isn't it?" the MP wrote.
According to him, every day of delay in the abolition of clan pensions is a slap in the face to society and a disgrace to the parliament.
"I insist on bringing the bill to the floor," the MP emphasized.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in July 2025, the Committee on Social Policy, overcoming fierce opposition, recommended that the Verkhovna Rada adopt in the second reading and as a whole the bill to abolish special pensions for prosecutors.
The document stipulates that pensions for prosecutors will be paid only after dismissal from positions that give the right to the relevant pension; in case of continuing work in such positions, the payment will be terminated.
The draft law also takes into account social exceptions - pensions will continue to be paid to persons with disabilities of groups I and II, combatants and other specified categories.
The Cabinet of Ministers will be instructed to develop legislative proposals to unify the remuneration of prosecutors, including the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, by December 2025.
