Danylo Hetmantsev, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction and chairman of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy, called for the abolition of special pensions and pension reform.
He wrote about this in a Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"For several months now, we have been seeing the delay in considering the issue of abolishing clan special pensions. The system is resisting, the clans are resisting, and this is understandable. But in the end, justice must prevail. A petition to abolish clan special pensions has appeared on the Verkhovna Rada website: "For the abolition of unfair pensions for the chosen ones. I ask you to consider bill 12278. I am grateful to the author of the appeal for her position and concern," the MP wrote.
He reminded that the MPs must overcome the process of delaying the second reading of the bill No. 12278 in order to vote on it in the hall in the near future.
"Of course, this will be only the first step. We should not stop there - I will definitely continue to advocate for revising the minimum pension, indexing pension payments and implementing pension reform. Support the petition, share the link on your social networks, involve your relatives and friends. With joint efforts, we will be able to eliminate clan special pensions, and ultimately ensure that all Ukrainian pensioners can have a decent pension and live normally, not survive," Hetmantsev concluded.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers proposes to the Verkhovna Rada to abolish special pension regimes for civil servants, scientists, officials of local self-government bodies, prosecutors, MPs, journalists and pensions based on years of service.
