A Verkhovna Rada member from the Servant of the People faction, chairman of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy, Danylo Hetmantsev, reported that the Ministry of Social Policy should present a pension reform concept by the end of the year.
He reported this in an interview with the Ukrainian News Agency.
"There is a general issue of pension reform. We have an obligation from the Minister of Social Policy Denys Uliutin that he will present us with a pension reform concept by the end of the year. We are waiting. There are several significant shortcomings in the solidarity system, due to which people receive less when calculating pensions than they should receive. When calculating pensions, people lose up to 19% due to the special procedure for determining the accrual base, based on the average salary for the last three years, as well as due to the low replacement coefficient built into the formula. The pension indexation formula is also unfair," the MP said.
In addition, he also added that the issue of special pensions is part of the reform.
"Special pensions should be abolished for those categories of pensioners who do not have grounds for them: judges, prosecutors, law enforcement officers. Special pensions for the military should be unified for both contract workers and mobilized ones. The bill on the abolition of "clan" pensions for prosecutors has already been recommended for the second reading in the Verkhovna Rada. But it has not been able to enter the hall since May of this year, because the "system" is resisting and blocking this bill from being considered. I have repeatedly appealed to the leadership of the parliament. We definitely have the votes in the hall. And the fact that the "system" uses certain legal tricks to delay this process is a matter of months, not years. I am sure that we will put pressure on it," Hetmantsev added.
At the same time, the MP reminded that in Ukraine it is necessary to determine the real subsistence minimum, having reviewed the consumer basket, to untie it from dozens of various payments.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Danylo Hetmantsev reported that the International Monetary Fund has never demanded that Ukraine devalue the hryvnia.
