President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has issued a Merry Christmas greeting and named the dream of Ukrainians on this festive evening. The corresponding appeal was published by the President's Office on Wednesday, December 24.

Zelenskyy emphasized that the russian occupiers are trying to take away the sense of unity and cohesion from Ukrainians, especially on Christmas Eve. According to him, despite the fourth year of the war and difficult times, the aggressor cannot occupy or bomb the most important thing - Ukrainian faith in each other.

"Ukrainians have long believed that the heavens open on Christmas Eve. And if you tell them your dream, it will definitely come true. Today, we all have the same dream. And we make the same wish for all of us - for it to come true. Everyone will say it for themselves. But when we turn to God, of course, we ask for more. We ask for peace for Ukraine. We are fighting for it and praying for it. And we deserve it," Zelenskyy said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 24, Pope Leo XIV called on the aggressor country russia to stop hostilities and establish a truce for Christmas.

On December 22, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the aggressor country russia could launch massive strikes on Ukraine on Christmas Day, as it rejected a proposal for a Christmas truce.

Recall that on December 16, russia refused to cease fire for Christmas.
