The aggressor country Russia is not interested in ending hostilities on Christmas Day. The day before, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz suggested that moscow show "the remnants of humanity" and arrange a truce.

The press secretary of the russian dictator Dmitry Peskov stated this on Tuesday, December 16, his words are cited by TASS.

According to him, russia allegedly "wants peace" and is not ready to replace it with "instant unsustainable solutions." Moscow is hardly ready to participate in this.

Peskov said that in the event of a "Christmas truce," Ukraine would allegedly use it to prepare for further hostilities. The dictator's spokesman did not specify what the russian army would do at that moment.

He added that russia "wants to stop this war," but by achieving its goals, as well as guaranteeing peace in Europe for the future.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, yesterday, December 15, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz proposed to russia to arrange a "Christmas truce". According to him, if the russian leadership "has remnants of humanity," it could leave people alone for a few days during Christmas.
