Ukraine and the US will continue negotiations on December 19 with involvement of European partners

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov said that on December 19, another round of consultations with the United States on the peace plan will be held. At the same time, the American side invited European partners to join this format.

He said this on Telegram.

"Today, in the United States, together with Lieutenant General Andrii Hnatov, we will start another round of consultations with the American side. At the invitation of the American side, European partners are also involved in this format," the statement said.

Umerov noted that the invitation of European representatives allows us to maintain a common vision and move in a coordinated manner.

He added that the Ukrainian side is constructively oriented, and preliminary consultations with European colleagues have already taken place.

"We are preparing for further conversations with the American side. Following the consultations, we will submit a report to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. We are acting strictly in accordance with the priorities set by the President: Ukraine's security must be guaranteed reliably and in the long term," he informed.

As a reminder, the day before, French President Emmanuel Macron said, that Europe will face the need to resume communication with russian dictator vladimir putin in cooperation with Ukraine if the current negotiations do not lead to a lasting peace.

At a press conference in Brussels on December 18, the President of Ukraine said that there is progress in negotiations with the United States. In particular, he called the frequency of communication on the peace plan and strong security guarantees progress. At the same time, he noted that there are still unresolved issues, including territorial ones.

Meanwhile, today, on December 19, the European Union approved financial support for Ukraine in the amount of EUR 90 billion . Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the European Council and emphasized the special significance of the fact that russian assets remain immobilized and Ukraine has received a reliable financial security guarantee for the coming years.
