President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the "sensitive issues" of the peace plan that have not yet been resolved in the negotiations are the Donbas, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, and the "issue of money."
He said this during a press conference in Brussels on December 18.
"As for the sensitive issues we discussed with the United States. So, the Donbas is an unresolved issue, we have different views. The nuclear power plant (Zaporizhzhia NPP - ed.), which is occupied by the Russian Federation, is not working, it is destroyed, but it should work, provide electricity. It is our plant, our rights. The issue is not resolved. It is a matter of money. I have fully expressed my view to my colleagues and leaders today. I believe that the reparations loan should be a positive solution to this issue," Zelenskyy said.
He emphasized that the issue of the reparations loan is not only about financial support for Ukraine in the first quarter of next year, but also about other issues.
"We really do not want this instrument to remain in the hands of the Russians. We really do not want this. And we believe that they will do everything to block it," the President emphasized.
Also during the press conference, Zelenskyy said that he was aware of the US position on deterring Ukraine's accession to NATO, but emphasized the immutability of strategic goals. The change of the constitutionally enshrined course for membership in the Alliance is not currently being considered.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the President said that Kyiv does not intend to give up the Donbas and does not recognize the temporarily occupied territories as part of russia either legally or factually.
