Today, December 10, Ukraine is importing electricity from neighboring EU countries at every hour of the day. The government also instructed regional military administrations to review the lists of critical infrastructure facilities.
Deputy Energy Minister Mykola Kolisnyk has reported this.
According to him, the situation in the power system remains difficult, but manageable. The United Energy System of Ukraine is operating in a mode of increased load and shortage of electricity generation due to russian attacks. In particular, the russian strike on the night of December 6 caused a lot of damage to generation facilities and electricity transmission and distribution networks.
"To partially cover the power deficit in the power system caused by Russian shelling, electricity is being imported from neighboring EU countries during the current day. The supply is carried out at every hour of the day," Kolisnyk said.
The minister also said that Ukraine continues to receive humanitarian supplies and equipment from its partners. He added that communication is conducted almost every day to increase the rhythm of the inflows.
Also yesterday, on December 9, the government decided to instruct the Regional Military Administration to review the actual lists of critical infrastructure facilities within two days. At the same time, the shutdowns will not affect hospitals, schools, life support facilities and defense industry enterprises.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the aggressor country russia attacked energy infrastructure in several regions on the night of December 10. As a result, consumers in the Mykolaiv and Kharkiv Regions are without power in the morning. Restoration works are already underway.
