US Vice President J.D. Vance has suggested that positive news about the end of the russian-Ukrainian war may soon appear.
It was reported by NBC News.
While speaking to reporters, Vance admitted that his biggest disappointment in office is the lack of a deal to end the war. "Oh, man. I mean, look, the Russia-Ukraine thing has been a source of perennial frustration, I think, for the entire White House,” he said.
The vice president recalled that Washington had previously been convinced that this particular war would be the "easiest" to resolve. "And if you would put, you know, peace in the Middle East as easier to achieve than peace in Eastern Europe, I would have told you you were crazy," Vance added.
At the same time, Vance said that despite the difficulties, there is progress. "I do think, for what it’s worth, that we have made a lot of progress, but we’re not yet quite across the finish line there. I think there’s hope — should hopefully be some good news the next few weeks on that front," he concluded.
We will remind, the assistant of the russian dictator vladimir putin Yuri Ushakov said, that after talks in moscow with the American delegation they did not find a compromise version of the peace plan to resolve the war in Ukraine.
Trump himself said that Witkoff and Kushner left the talks with putin convinced that he wants to find a way out of the war: "Their impression was very strongly that he'd like to make a deal."
